HF/VHF/UHF Data/Voice Terminal for Transceiver
Many techniques have been proposed and developed for reliable communication, but modern communication technology has still many problems in providing reliable communication in very difficult radio channel such as HF channel.
RI-5000 can be fitted to any type of analog or digital transceivers with its advanced technologies such as unique data error correction, spread spectrum, powerful synchronization and newly developed VLBRVC technology. It provides perfect error-free real time communication in any HF Channel even under very strong gauss noise, large fading and multi-path delay and strong electronic jamming.
Hopping control communication with IC-706 and IC-7000 analog transceivers of ICOM series is a standard, making them most advanced ECCM one. This function can be customized according to the demand of the User.
And its embedded Communication Security (COMSEC) module which can be modified by the User at his will excels in high level of Data/Voice Encryption no one has ever imagined.
RI-5000 is very easy to connect to any type of existing analog and digital transceivers with its plug-in to microphone jack and provides most excellent and secured communication to military and government at HF band.
Anti-jamming
The embedded unique error correction technology(FEC2) recovers 100% of data with the multiple burst error of up to 75% where there exist very strong gauss noise, large fading and multi-path delay and strong spectrum electronic jamming with its time factor reaching nearly 90%.
The advanced spread spectrum technology (SST) also provides satisfactory secure communication in gauss noise of – 16dB or, CW jamming or cross-interference of –5dB.

Very Low Bit Rate Voice Compression (VLBRVC)
Recently developed VLBRVC has better voice quality than any other technology can provide. Combined with strong FEC, the RI-5000's VOCODER provides encrypted speech in throughput of 2400/1200/600 bps. Automatic User voice filter control selects the master voice only, thus ensuring the clear voice with little or no noise.

Strong Encryption Capability
The RI-5000's built-in COMSEC module uses 128/192/256 bits RIJNDAEL(OFB) for stream ciphering. Transmission Encryption Key (TEK) can be replaced any time with secure authentication and key agreement protocol, which is based on the Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem, most advanced public key system. With its full source program supplied, the User can customize 100% securely the encryption algorithm at his needs any moment.

ECCM communication
With its hotkey standardized to IC-706/IC-7000 analog transceivers, the customer has frequency hopping communication (ECCM) immediately at hand. ECCM improves anti-jamming capability and provides reliable communication in strong jamming.
Additional features
Message trensmitting
Using the RI-5000's self-illuminating LCD display and Keypad, user can edit, send/receive and view text messages.
Data communication
RI-5000 can be connected to the computer through RS-232c port and send/receive files, image and video. Software program for Data transmission is provided as standard (SHIELD 5.0).

Auto-response
Recognizes automatically the incoming signal and selects the relevant mode (Data/Voice).
No Rig Modifications Needed
All you need to do is only connecting RI-5000 to transceiver’s microphone and speaker, using supplied cables. There is no need for internal modifications or adjustments.
Noise Suppression
Automatic User voice filter control selects the master voice only, thus ensuring the clear voice with little or no noise.
